Recently I have been receiving this question from a variety of different sources- clients, friends and family members are asking: "How do I meditate?" "How do I calm my mind?" I love sharing information and resources that will help others start or strengthen their self care and mindfulness practices, so I decided to take it as a sign that this was one more way that I could be of service. This video shares a walk through on how to meditate and has been recorded with the intention of aiding self care, peace of mind and relaxation. It is a beginners guide to mindfulness, centeredness, grounding and balance!
The practice of meditation has many benefits. When actively practiced, meditation can calm the mind, alleviate stress, bring inner peace and joy, re-connect you with your internal word, connect you with your higher-self, spirit and the universe. Blood pressure and heart rate decrease, respiration slows, health improves and healing occurs. Over time you will begin to live a more conscious, inspired and balanced life.
Though there are many different forms of meditation, this is a great place to begin. If the above doesn't resonate or you wish to try a different approach, I suggest exploring guided meditation, visualization or using a meditation app, or even incorporating meditation tools such as a mala or mantra to help you get started.
